=> Answer - 1. TITLE - The title of the poem is 'Walk a little slower' 2. POET/AUTHOR- The poem is by an anonymous (unknown) poet. 3. RHYME SCHEME - The rhyme scheme of the stanzas is 'abcb'. 4. FAVOURITE LINES- My favourite lines from the poem are: "I'm following in your footsteps And I don't want to fall." 5. THEME/CENTRAL IDEA - The importance of the father as a role model is the central idea of the poem. The child in the poem wants to observe and imitate the life led by his/her father. Hence the child requests the father to be more considerate towards his/her needs. 6. FIGURE OF SPEECH The figure of speech in the poem is 'metaphor' 7. SPECIAL FEATURES- This poem is a dramatic monologue. Dramatic monologue is a kind of poem in which a single character other than the poet speaks to a silent listener. The speech does not reveal the poet's own thoughts. Instead, the thoughts of the character speaking are expressed. In this, a dramatic monologue differs from a lyric. 8.WHY I LIKE THE POEM I like the poem for its sheer simplicity. There is not a single difficult word in the poem. This helps me understand the poem fully. Even the implied meanings are easy to guess.

=> Answer - 1 TITLE The title of the poem is 'Hope is the thing with feathers-' 2. POET/AUTHOR The author of the poem is Emily Dickinson. 3. RHYME SCHEME - The rhyme scheme of the first 2 stanzas is 'abab' whereas in the third stanza is 'abcb'. 4. FAVOURITE LINES My favourite lines from the poem are: (i) 'Hope' is the thing with feathers- (ii) And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard 5. THEME/CENTRAL IDEA The central idea or theme of the poem is the role played by the hope in our lives. According to the poetess, hope - the little bird that nests in our soul keeps us going even in the most difficult of times and demands nothing in return. 6. FIGURE OF SPEECH Personification: Here, the lifeless and abstract idea of 'hope' is portrayed as a 'living little bird'. 7. SPECIAL FEATURES This poem is full of implied meanings. According to the poet, hope is not easily defeated. It sustains us. Hope also encourages us to move forward. This message, I think, is very important for a Young person.

=> Answer - 2.1. Comparisons 1. TITLE- The title of the poem is 'Comparisons' 2. POET/AUTHOR The poem is by an anonymous (unknown) poet. 3. RHYME SCHEME The rhyme scheme of the stanzas is 'abcb'. 4. FAVOURITE LINES- My favourite lines from the poem are: "The world is full of opposites, so think of some yourself!" 5. THEME/CENTRAL IDEA The world is full of opposites. The poet make comparisons between two things which is sometime very important in our life. 6. FIGURE OF SPEECH - The figure of speech in the poem is 'Alliteration' "Night time midnight" (The sound of "T" is repeated to create a poetic effect.) 7. SPECIAL FEATURES- This poem is about comparisons between two things that have some opposite qualities. The poet has used various adjectives to show shape, size, temperature, speed etc. for comparisons between two things. 8. WHY I LIKE THE POEM I like the poem because it is very simple poem. The poem is about comparisons between two things which one can easily understand while reading a poem.

=> Answer - 1. TITLE The title of the poem is 'Please Listen!' 2. POET/AUTHOR- The poem is by an unknown poet. 3. RHYME SCHEME- The poem has no rhyme scheme. It's a free verse. 4. FAVOURITE LINES- My favourite lines from the poem are: "God just listens and lets you work it out for yourself." 5. THEME/CENTRAL IDEA- The poem celebrates the diversity in the universe. The poem also reminds us that all sorts of people and things are needed to make our world beautiful. Highly contrasted things are existed in the world. 6. FIGURE OF SPEECH- The figure of speech in the poem is 'simile'. Except for the last two lines, the whole poem is a long string of similes. The comparisons are made explicit with the use of 'as' throughout the poem. 7. SPECIAL FEATURES The poem has deep meanings. The poet has described the importance of listening. Sometimes, "Silence is greater than words." One should not speak whimsically. We have to improve listening skills. After all, 'A good speaker is always a good listener. 8. WHY I LIKE THE POEM I like the poem for its message of listening. Now a days everybody wants to give advices and suggestions to one another. We should speak and suggest anyone if necessary.

=> Answer - 1. TITLE- The title of the poem is 'Coromandel Fishers.' 2. POET/AUTHOR- The poem is written by 'Sarojini Naidu. 3. RHYME SCHEME- The rhyme scheme of the stanza is 'aabb 4. FAVOURITE LINES- My favourite lines from the poem are: 1) "Rise, brothers, rise; the wakening skies pray to the morning light, 2) The wind lies asleep in the arms of the dawn like a child that has cried all night. 5. THEME/CENTRAL IDEA- The poem addresses the fishermen, telling that it is dawn and time for them to wake up and set out in their boats to harvest the wealth of the sea. The speaker urges the sleeping fishermen to wake up and prepare to ride the stormy waves of the sea. A life of comfort spent relaxing in the cool shade of trees - is very attractive. But the speaker believes that a life of hard work is much better. 6. FIGURE OF SPEECH - Personification- "The wind lies asleep in the arms of the dawn like a child that has cried all night." (Explanation - In the above line dawn has been personified as a mother.) Simile - The wind is compared to a child. Metaphor -"Sea is our mother." Sea is compared to mother without using 'as' or 'like' 7. SPECIAL FEATURES- Sarojini Naidu has started the poem with dialogue, starting "rise brothers rise", allowing the reader to feel as though they are present on the coromandel coast. The phrase literally refers to the early start of the fishermen, but can be interpreted as a beckoning call to those who wish the country's freedom. 8. WHY I LIKE THE POEM This is such a superb poem. The beauty of nature, the audacity of the fishermen and everything have been so beautifully described. Each and every line is so meaningful. I love this poem. It is inspiring.

=> Answer -1. TITLE- The title of the poem is "To a Butterfly' 2. POET/AUTHOR- The poem is written by 'William wordsworth' 3. RHYME SCHEME- 1) The rhyme scheme of the first stanza is 'aabbccb' 2. The rhyme scheme of the second stanza is aabbcdccd 4. FAVOURITE LINES- My favourite lines are "Stay near me - do not take thy flight! A little longer in sight!" 5. THEME/CENTRAL IDEA - This is a poem which tells how childhood flies away like the butterfly. It tells us how a person's childhood is very important and how that person must make well out of it and enjoy every moment of their childhood. 6. FIGURE OF SPEECH The figures of speech in the poem are 'Inversion. E.g.- 1. A little longer stay in sight, Stay in sight a little longer. 7. SPECIAL FEATURES Here the poet is addressing or speaking to a butterfly. A beautiful butterfly is flying before him. And poet is watching it to that butterfly curiously. The poet remembered his childhood days how he was happy with the company of these beautiful butterflies. 8. WHY I LIKE THE POEM I like the poem because this poem tells us how a person's childhood is very important and how person must make well out of it and enjoy moment of their childhood.

=> Answer -1. TITLE- The title of the poem is "What is Success?" 2. POET/AUTHOR- The poem is Ralph Waldo Emerson. 3. RHYME SCHEME The poem has no rhyme scheme. It's a free verse. 4. FAVOURITE LINES- My favourite lines from the poem are: a) "To earn the appreciation of honest critics." b) "To find the best in others." 5. THEME/CENTRAL IDEA - The poem is about success. Success gives happiness and enthusiasm. A person who wants to be successful should have positive attitude. He or she finds the best qualities in other people. A successful person wants welfare of everyone. 6. FIGURE OF SPEECH - "To leave the world a bit better." Alliteration: sound 'b' is repeated. 7. SPECIAL FEATURES - The poem is a sonnet, (a poem of 14 lines) No rhyming words are used in the poem. It is a free verse. The poet has used many infinitives. 8. WHY I LIKE THE POEM I like the poem because it is based upon success. It definitely helps us to achieve success by doing small things.

=> Answer - 1. TITLE- The title of the poem is 'Silver' 2. POET/AUTHOR- Walter de la Mare. (1873-1956) 3. RHYME SCHEME- The Rhyme scheme of the first stanzas is 'aabb'. The Rhyme scheme for the final stanza is 'aabbcc. 4. FAVOURITE LINES- My favourite lines from the poem are: "She peers and sees silver fruit upon silver trees." 5. THEME/CENTRAL IDEA- The poet has depicted the moon and moonlight in the night. It makes all the things silver. Hence, the things look shiny. The poet has given examples of animate and inanimate things such as fruits, trees, casements and cote etc. 6. FIGURE OF SPEECH a) 'Slowly,silently, now the moon Walks the night in her silver shoon.' Alliteration-Sound 'S' is repeated. "Couched in his kennel, like a log." Simile-A dog that sleeps in kennel is compared with a log by the word 'like.' 7. SPECIAL FEATURES The poem is a sonnet. (A poem of 14 lines). The poet has praised the moon and moonbeams because they reflected on many things. It looks silvery everywhere due to moonlight. 8.
