It is to promote an eco-friendly way of sharing greetings by Indian citizens to their relatives and fellow friends on the occasion of national holidays and other national sun celebrations. The portal allows users to select and send greetings from several occasion-specific templates. The old option of sending paper greeting-cards is not eco-friendly. So our Government of India has created its own eGreetings portal. The portal includes greetings for various occasions, including days of national importance.

उदाहरणार्थ, राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान दिन, महिला दिन, विविध आरोग्य दिवस इत्यादींसाठी तसेच राष्ट्रीय मोहिमांसाठी विशिष्ट टेम्पलेट तयार केले जाऊ शकतात. प्रत्येक व्यक्ती संपर्क साधण्यासाठी स्वतःच्या शुभेच्छा तयार करू शकतो. शुभेच्छांच्या डिझाइन्स आणि टेम्प्लेट्सची आपल्या साठवून ठेवण्याची गरज नाही
