Identify the sequence
The questions in this component of Identifying wrong words are given a sequence of numbers, letters, and the question is to find the wrong word that occurs in that series by considering the relationship between the numbers or letters in that series.
The following criteria can be considered while choosing the correct option- Criteria of relationship between numerical series-
1) A number in multiples / roots of a certain number
2) Multiples of certain numbers / Even numbers / Prime numbers / Square numbers / Triangular numbers
3) Ascending or descending order of prime numbers / square numbers / cubic numbers or triangular numbers respectively
4) Numbers divisible by successively descending numbers
5) Even numbers and odd numbers may have different criteria used
Criteria of relationship between alphabets
1) Series of serial numbers such as multiples of a certain number / even number / prime number / square number / triangular number
2) A series of letters coming from left or right at intervals of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 respectively.
3) A series of pairs of letters with the same serial number from left to right respectively
4) A group of certain letters such as the first, third and fifth of a group of five letters in an alphabet
Examples -
1) A, C, F, K, O, U
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 letters from left in letter series
are given
So the term K is incorrect. Should be J instead of K.
2) 2, 7, 17, 26, 40, 57, 77
Given a series of numbers with differences of 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20 respectively.
Hence, position 17 is wrong. 15 instead of 17 should be.

चुकीचे पद ओळखणे या घटकावरील प्रश्नांमध्ये संख्या, अक्षरांची क्रमवार मालिका दिलेली असते, त्या मालिकेतील संख्यांमधील किंवा अक्षरांमधील संबंध लक्षात घेऊन त्या मालिकेमध्ये आलेले एक चुकीचे पद शोधायचे असते. अचूक पर्याय निवडताना खालील निकषांचा विचार करता येईल- संख्यामालिकेमधील संबंधाचे निकष -
1) ठराविक संख्येच्या पटीतील / पाद्यातील संख्या
2) ठराविक संख्येच्या पटीतील संख्या / समसंख्या / मूळसंख्या / वर्गसंख्या / त्रिकोणी संख्या अशा फरकाने येणाऱ्या संख्या
3) क्रमश: मूळ संख्या / वर्गसंख्या / घनसंख्या किंवा त्रिकोणी संख्या यांचा चढता किंवा उतरता क्रम
4) क्रमश: उतरत्या क्रमाने येणाऱ्या संख्यांनी भागून येणाऱ्या संख्या
5) सम स्थानी असलेल्या आणि विषम स्थानी असलेल्या संख्यांना वेगवेगळा निकषही वापरलेला असू शकतो
अक्षरमालिकेमधील संबंधाचे निकष
1) ठराविक संख्येच्या पटीतील संख्या / समसंख्या / मूळसंख्या / वर्गसंख्या/ त्रिकोणी संख्या अशा अनुक्रमांकाची अक्षरांची मालिका
2) डावीकडून किंवा उजवीकडून क्रमश: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 किंवा 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 च्या फरकाने येणाऱ्या अक्षरांची मालिका
3) डावीकडून व उजवीकडून क्रमश: समान अनुक्रमांकाच्या अक्षरांच्या जोड्यांची मालिका
4) अक्षरमालेतील पाच अक्षरांच्या गटातील पहिले, तिसरे आणि पाचवे अशा ठराविक अक्षरांचा गट
उदाहरणे -
1) A, C, F, K, O, U
अक्षर मालिकेतील डावीकडून क्रमश: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 च्या फरकाने येणारी अक्षरे
दिली आहेत.
त्यामुळे K पद चुकीचे आहे. K ऐवजी J पाहिजे.
2) 2, 7, 17, 26, 40, 57, 77
क्रमश: 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20 च्या फरकाने येणाऱ्या संख्यांची मालिका दिली आहे.
त्यामुळे 17 पद चुकीचे आहे. 17 ऐवजी 15 पाहिजे.
