But the speaker believes that a life of hard work is much better.

Alliteration-Sound 'S' is repeated. "Couched in his kennel, like a
log," Simile- A dog that sleeps in kennel is compared with a log by the
word 'like.'
5. Theme / central idea- The poet has depicted the moon and moonlight in the night. It makes all the things silver. Hence, the things look shiny. The poet has given examples of animate and inanimate things such as fruits, trees, casements and cote etc.
